So for three days last week I went to the Advanced Officials Module sponsored by the State of Virginia. This is the highest fire certification the state gives out. It wasn't a requirement of my job but I just wanted it. Oh yea and Saturday I bought an iPad. I was going to wait on the second generation but I haven't really heard of any hardware problems so I took the plunge. More later

So a couple of weeks ago I met my new urologist. He seemed to be a personable fellow and decided to first send me for ultrasounds at the "Advanced Imaging Center". Of course I was unable to view the images doctors black magic and all. Now I have to wait until October 7 for the Doctor to tell me what is on the images. This seems to be taking a long time to be so important. Stay tuned.

So what exactly was the hurry?
Last Wednesday it was the double test, this Wednesday I called the Doc and asked her assistant what was next, and here it is Friday and I haven't heard a thing. So what was the hurry? I guess I'll call next week and keep bugging them. This managed care is for the birds!
Oh yea! This weekend is a local gun show. I can't wait.

A clean bill of health but that doesn't help much as the idea was to track down the cause of the anemia. The doc gave a hint as to the next test as swallow a pill and they will watch it go down. He said that has to be done in a Hospital.

So last Wednesday I went for blood tests as my Doc was afraid my thyroid was about to go on the blink. Instead she says I am anemic. Now it's off for batteries of tests. Next Wednesday it's a colonoscopy and an esophagogastroduodenoscopy or EGD. I guess she's afraid I'm leaking. I had a colonoscopy eight years ago and he said not to come back for ten years but things changed. The camera down the esophagus is a new one.

Just ordered Dan Cederholm's updated book Web Standards Solutions. I bought his earlier one but with all the moving around and my habit of loaning books, it has somehow disappeared. I see he now has two companion works but my book allowance is depleted right now. They are on the list.

Yesterday it was off to a gun show in Hampton. Good clean fun on a 100 degree day for a couple of boys raised in the south. People keep talking about the "gun show loophole" and I am here to tell you there is no such thing. Yes private sales take place at the show but a whole lot more take place in parking lots and over the bed of a pickup. You see, in the Old Dominion there is no background check in a private gun sale. Besides, I think most guns criminals buy come from the street corners after they have been stolen. No background check there!

So yesterday I received a bill for our local waste treatment folks who are called HRSD. Nothing unusual there except I just paid the exact same bill form a few days prior. Where they trying to trick folks or was it an honest mistake? Either way it makes them look incompetent. Every time a government grants a monopoly, it will be abused.

P.S. Friday Terry's son was picked up by the police and we are not sure what the charges but being picked up is never a good thing.

So finally I was able to secure the domain I have sought for the longest of time, escofield.com. I have also come to the conclusion I will change all the web presence I have except Facebook to plain old html. I will eventually be moving all that I have to Nearly Free Speech. Take a look at them, I think you'll like what you see. There you just pay for what you yes and there is no monthly fee.
