So Friday night I was bitten by the Linux bug again. I decided to install the latest Ubuntu, Gutsy Gibbon. Must not have been paying attention because I wiped out the windows partition. Back to Ghost to restore the machine, then Partition Magic to partition, and finally installed Ubuntu. It didn't like my GeForce 7600 GT one bit. I had to install in VGA then, when hooked to the Internet, install the nVidia drivers. After a few hours of tuning, I am now sure tho only time I'll have to use Windows is to fly my flight simulator. If you check the roster at Ocean Miami Airways, you'll see I spend entirely too much time flying!

So in a few years they're going to turn off the analog TV signal. After the windfall a few years ago, I went out a bought one of those kick *ss TVs. There are at least three prevalent video aspect ratios. Why in the heck can't this new super duper TV sense the aspect ratio and adjust itself accordingly? If there is such a beast my email is at the bottom of this page. The point here is they are about to do away with plain old TV and the new stuff is just plain dumb. They are missing the point I think. When people sit in front of the "boob tube", they don't want to have to mess about with all sorts of foolishness, they just want to veg out.
